Aspen Historical Society

The Aspen Historical Society was founded and established in 1963 as a 501(3)(c) charitable organization by trustees including western novelist Luke Short and Bauhaus artist Herbert Bayer. It is dedicated to serving the general public through exciting history education inspired by the real objects, authentic voices, and actual sites of our community's heritage. Between 2001 and Jan. of 2004 The Aspen Historical Society was known as HeritageAspen. We rely on our many generous supporters to provide our programming to adults and children, visitors and locals.

On January 1, 2012, our member benefit levels will change. Please click here to view a breakdown of member benefits.

Memberships

First and foremost, the privilege of being an AHS supporter is the knowledge that you are ensuring that local valley history is preserved to be shared with future generations.

In addition, all supporters are offered free admission to all museums and sites as well as informal use of the Wheeler/Stallard grounds (Ruth Whyte park).  Pour a glass of lemonade or iced tea and enjoy a tranquil setting for a lunch break or lazy afternoon of croquet, badminton, chess, dominos or other games.  Bring your laptop to follow up on email while lazing among well-tended gardens. Enjoy a cup of cocoa or hot tea once the weather turns brisk.
